Live The Dream

There has been widespread talk about visualising what it is that you want in your life in order for you to see it manifest itself.
Some writers say you should visualise and verbalise what you want and you shall see it happen. Those theories whilst true, are not what we shall be discussing. What we shall focus on however, is how once you have a dream or a vision you shall see it through from idea conception right up to full execution.
There is no way that you can structure a project out till it has been completed without actually seeing the vision or the idea about which you are talking about.
See it from the word go, what would you go about doing and what would happen if your dream was to be executed immediately?
If God was to say he would supply you with everything that you need, wether finances, resources, human or otherwise what would you need and how would you employ them?
Begin to move from the place that you currently are and see what it is that you need to the fulfillment of your objective. What is it that you would do on a day to day basis, with whom and how would it be necessarily executed.
For example, say your dream is to construct a house, the first thing you would consider is probably the location, then how to get the land, who you would need to see, what papers you anticipate to sign and present, the form of payment strategy you would have to employ, wether cash, cheque, credit, trade etc, how you would get to see the land you are to occupy, the need to employ surveyors and geologists to advise on the possibility of contruction, until you finally begin even thinking about the plan for the house.
As you live out the series of steps, it is wise to jot them down for later revision and deliberation with friends, advisors, partners and self.
It may be difficult at first but with practice and execution you will realise that it becomes easier and you will do it faster with each successive effort you make.
It is also wise to take note of the financial and resource implications to each of your actions so that you are very well aware of what you need if you are to see your dream to fruition.
Difficult you think? Why not try this approach. Consider a person who is about to embark on a long journey. Naturaly, you would plan for it, pack some change of clothing, carry some money, plan out were you will be staying, how you will get there, if there will be some stops in between, what you will eat when you are on the road and once you are there.
Its highly unlikely that you will just get up and go without thinking it through, and if there is one area that you are not satisfied that is adequately provided for you will find a substitute and if you fail at that then you simply wont embark on the journey if the object is very important.
Its the same thing with business, there is no such thing as a “startup guru”, we are all born with this inbuilt ability to learn, plan and startegise. Galileo said, you cannot be taught anything that you do not already know, but you can only be made to realise, what lies deep within yourself.
The same way you make plans and execute holiday plans, is the same way that you execute a business strategy. The levels of execution may be different, but the basic principles remain the same at every level.
Its the basic activities that we carry out on a day to day basis that form the fundamentals of running a big business tha we often fail to recognise. The simple one foot in front of the other that moves you from point A to point B..
The time frame and consequences of each and evry action that you take will also make themself obvious at this stage hence you can easily identify what challenges and constraints that you are likely to face as you progress with your activities.
Tasks that can be done at one sitting are also identified and you can come up with a schedule that is feasible and that will not put a strain on your resources.
Tasks that consume a lot of time and resoources but add very little or nothing to the final outcome can be sidelined or even totally dismissed, but you need to be carefull to take note of the overall picture because some activities influence more than one facet.
It can be very expensive to be cheap.
